Shannon O'Connell joined The Tarbox Group, Inc. in December 2011 as Portfolio Manager. She is responsible for developing asset allocation recommendations for The Tarbox Group, Inc.'s model portfolios. She also constructs clients' investment portfolios according to individual risk and return parameters. She directs the sourcing, selection, and retention of investment managers utilized in client accounts. Shannon actively monitors global economic and market trends and manages the impact of those trends on client portfolios.
Shannon has extensive experience managing diversified investment portfolios for multi-billion institutions. She most recently served as Director, Public Markets for The California Endowment, where she managed over $3 billion in equity, fixed income, absolute return, commodities and inflation hedge assets. Prior to her role at The California Endowment, she served in senior level investment management roles with both the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association and Toyota.
Shannon graduated with academic honors from the University of California, Irvine's MBA program in 2002. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of California, Riverside in 1992. She is currently a level III candidate in the CFA program and an active member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles.
