Mark Wilson joined The Tarbox Group, Inc. in 1996. He is one of only two people in the nation that has both the Certified Financial Planner(r) and Accredited Pension Administrator (APA) designations. In 2000 he was promoted to vice president.
 

For the ten years prior to joining The Tarbox Group, Inc., Mark was a qualified plan administrator for Executive Benefits, Inc. At the same time, he served as the head software engineer with WINC Enterprises providing software for retirement plan administrators across the country.

 

Mark is finishing up his three-year term on the CFP(r) Board's Council of Examinations (COE). The COEs main responsibility is to build the two-day 10-hour CFP(r) Certification Examination that is offered three times each year.  Mark has participated in exam reviews, item writing and several activities that ensure the exam is fair, tough, correct and legally defensible.

 

Mark is an active member of the Financial Planners Association (FPA), the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA). For over 6 years, Mark taught Retirement Planning and Employment Benefits as a staff instructor at the University of California, Irvine.

 

Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.
