Laura Tarbox spends her "free" time keeping busy with work outside of work, community involvement, family, and fitness pursuits. Currently, she is serving as an expert witness in several cases involving sales abuses in variable annuities. She recently completed her certificate in Professional Fiduciary Management for Trustees through Cal State Fullerton, and passed her licensing exam for the California Professional Fiduciary license – number 302 in the state! (As of January 1, 2009, one must be licensed in order to serve as a professional trustee in California, as Laura does on several trusts.)
Laura is the current Chair of the Laguna Beach Community Foundation, which works to encourage philanthropy through the many charities in the Laguna Beach area.
Her daughter, Jane, will soon be an eighth-grader at Thurston Middle School in Laguna Beach and is busy with basketball and sleepovers. Laura also continues to work on her yoga practice, and after five years, can almost do chaturanga dandasana correctly.
Estelle Robinson is celebrating twenty years with The Tarbox Group. As Director of Operations, Estelle has done a great job managing the team responsible for new accounts, portfolio tracking/reporting, account asset/cash transfers and tax reporting.
Away from the office, Estelle and her family enjoy frequent trips to Parker, Arizona. The family enjoys boating and riding dirt bikes in the desert area around Parker and Lake Havasu. At home, she and her husband Kris stay busy with the kids' sports and schoolwork. Their daughter Corey (18) is working at the families’ veterinarian office while starting her first year in college. Russell (16) enjoys lacrosse, mixed martial arts, photography and backpacking. Cherese (24) continues her college-level studies, enjoys playing on a co-ed softball team, and recently added vegetarian cooking to her hobbies. One of Estelle's passions outside the office is training and competing with her dogs. Her Papillon, Razr, is four years old and they compete at AKC agility trials. Estelle helps him to negotiate complicated courses while Razr jumps and races over obstacles. Razr has recently added a notch to his belt with a Master Agility Champion 2 (MACH 2) title. 2009 was their first time attending the AKC National Agility Championship in N. Carolina where they came in #12 out of 113 of the nation’s best dogs. Razr is currently ranked the #5 Papillon in the nation and hopes to be invited to the AKC Invitational, a national championship that will be held locally in Long Beach this year. A new puppy was added to the crew last year. Ziggy, a Chinese Crested, is in training for next year’s competitions.
Mark Wilson ended his three-year term on CFP® Board's Council of Examinations (the group that builds the 10-hour CFP exam). With his newfound "free time" Mark has decided he'd like to begin teaching again. He's already scheduled to teach Retirement Planning courses through Northwestern University beginning next year. Outside of this, Mark continues to fit in a couple of games of soccer every week.
Mark's kids (Andrew and Rachel) have a busy summer planned, adding Lego Camp, Baseball Camp and Soccer Camps to their baseball league, dance classes and gymnastics. Between commuting the kids to their events, Maria (Mark's wife) is trying to get organized for next school year as she's changing classrooms and grade levels. We're sure she'll also fit in several trips to the movies and beach. The family has no big summer trip planned, but they will visit Chicago to enjoy the city, visit extended family, and see "Da Bears" at training camp.
Mike Nozzarella spends his time away from the office with his eight-year-old son Dominic and his "significant other" of five years. Aside from managing the typical elementary school schedule (yes, lots of homework), Mike enjoys listening to Dominic during his weekly ukulele and guitar lessons. Dominic is enjoying his summer, though he is working extra hard in the dojo after recently achieving his purple belt in Karate. The summer schedule includes several fun camps such as Movies by Kids, Camp Jam, and South Coast Repertory’s Summer Acting Workshop.
Mike is currently working towards the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation (CDFA), having completed three of four parts. Mike's other passions are running stadium steps at Laguna Beach High, the occasional “power yoga” class, good food (have you tried Lumberyard?), and reading.
Marty McNamara enjoys spending his time away from the firm outdoors -- usually at the beach. His favorite outdoor activities include surfing and running. Marty primarily surfs in Newport Beach, but does venture to other surf breaks from time to time. He also runs a few times each week along the boardwalk (jamming to his iPod, of course!).
Marty travels frequently to visit friends and family. Upcoming trips include a family wedding in Ohio, a Hawaii trip to the island of Kauai with his uncle, and a long weekend in Colorado with college roommates, his sister and her fiancé.
During football season, Marty spends a lot of time watching college and professional football. Saturdays are dedicated to college football, while Sundays are devoted to his hometown favorite, the Cleveland Browns. Each game Marty dons his Cleveland Browns #27 jersey and cheers on the team.
Crystal Hustad spends her time away from The Tarbox Group studying and attending classes at California State University, Long Beach. Although she keeps herself very busy with school and work, Crystal still manages to find time to spend with her close friends and family. She enjoys her weekends playing beach volleyball and practicing her new hobby, salsa (the dance, not the food), with her boyfriend Mauricio.
